On December 14, NASTAD hosted the first webinar in the series "Employing Status-Neutral Approaches to End the HIV Epidemic". The webinar, "Status-Neutral Approaches 101" provided an overview of person-first strategies for HIV prevention and care. The New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene which pioneered the approach presented key elements of creating and implementing a status-neutral health department program. Presenters shared successes, challenges, best practices, and lessons learned when creating and implementing status-neutral approaches. Several Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Phase 1 jurisdictions also shared their plans and activities for implementing status-neutral approaches.
