Ryan White Part B and ADAP

Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part B and ADAPs serve over half of the individuals diagnosed with HIV in the U.S.  NASTAD has extensive expertise providing technical assistance to Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part B and ADAP grantees regarding the implementation of critical access, treatment, and support services. NASTAD works extensively with health departments to establish comprehensive systems of care with the goal of improving health outcomes.

NASTAD is the leading expert on AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs) which serve clients each year by purchasing medications and/or health insurance. NASTAD provides ongoing and intensive technical assistance to ADAPs to ensure the programs are best positioned to assist current and future clients achieve optimal health outcomes. NASTAD manages a cooperative agreement from the Health Resources and Services Administration to provide TA to ADAPs and by extension, RWHAP Part B programs, on a variety of critical management topics. Topics include 340B policy and best practice; drug pricing; financial forecasting; interactions with other payers including private insurance, Medicaid and Medicare; and program structure and administration.

NASTAD's National Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part B and AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Monitoring Project, including its Annual Report, documents key trends, challenges, and successes faced by public health programs ensuring access to life-saving treatment and services for people living with HIV (PLWH) nationally.
