Series Finale - Southern Steep: Brewing Stronger Community Podcast

After four successful seasons, the Southern Steep:Brewing Stronger Community podcast released its last episode on June 7, 2024. Launched in 2020, Southern Steep has served as a public health and social justice podcast that centers the voices of community leaders in the southern United States. Conversations have highlighted innovative approaches to unapologetic leadership, meaningful partnerships and thriving communities. The series finale episode, A Strong Cup of Communi-tea, goes down memory lane, highlighting special moments during each season of the podcast.

Throughout its four seasons, Southern Steep produced 47 impactful episodes, highlighted incredible community leaders and the work they’re doing to make a difference in their communities. From harm reductionists to doulas, prevention specialists to housing champions, Southern Steep heard from a wide representation of speakers across the South and covered many important public health topics. The podcast reached approximately 1,650 individual listeners with over 2,800 global downloads. Through this project, NASTAD has bridged stronger ties with southern community partners and has proudly shared stories from voices that need to be heard.
