Edwin Corbin-Gutierrez, Director, Health Systems Integration, leads NASTAD's efforts to bridge public health and health care systems. In this role, Edwin oversees NASTAD's two Systems Coordination Provider (SCP) cooperative agreements. The Ending the HIV Epidemic SCP aims to improve coordination and forge new partnerships across HIV care systems within the initiative's 57 Phase I jurisdictions (HRSA-20-089). NASTAD's Medicaid HIV SCP aims to increase state capacity to improve the collection and reporting of high-quality HIV viral suppression data as part of the annual state Medicaid Adult Core Set (HRSA-21-083). Edwin's other areas of expertise include strategies to finance PrEP and hepatitis C treatment, use of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, health care coverage for preventive services, and systems coordination with OUD programs. Before joining NASTAD in 2014, Edwin managed an HIV prevention program and the anti-violence crisis line at the Center on Halsted in Chicago. He also co-chaired the National Latino AIDS Action Network and the Illinois HIV Planning Group. He was a 2005 Fulbright Fellow in Venezuela, received his BA from Emerson College, MA from Northwestern University, and is currently completing a MAS in Population Health Management at Johns Hopkins University.
