Scaling Up HIV Workforce Capacity for Ending the HIV Epidemic Webinar Series: Strengthening the HIV Workforce with Community

On July 21, NASTAD hosted the final webinar in the HIV workforce webinar series, Scaling Up HIV Workforce Capacity for Ending the HIV Epidemic. The webinar, Strengthening the HIV Workforce with Community, focused on the importance of community representation in the HIV workforce. Black AIDS Institute shared their model for building and strengthening the HIV workforce through their unique training and capacity building assistance programs including their HIV Certificate Pilot Program. The Arkansas Department of Health shared information about their innovative Community Connector Program which recruits community members representing the populations health departments serve. A Community Connector from the Program also shared their recommendations on how health departments can recruit or retain those with lived experience as a part of the HIV workforce.
