Anti-Criminalization in Practice for Public Health
The NASTAD Drug User Health team and Reframe Health and Justice held the Anti-Criminalization in Practice for Public Health, webinar on Thursday, April 6, from 4-5:15pm ET. This webinar was a follow-up to Introduction to Anti-Criminalization for Public Health Departments.
Building on Introduction to Anti-Criminalization for Public Health Departments, Anti-Criminalization in Practice for Public Health expanded on the concepts of anti-criminalization and discussed what they look like in action. In this panel, participants heard from advocates working on different areas of advocacy to discuss how criminalization impacts their work and the promising strategies that public health practitioners and departments have taken to address these harms.
This webinar was moderated by Kate D’Adamo from Reframe Health and Justice. It featured Indigo Hahn, Healing Justice Programming Lead for MO Ho Justice, Charles Hawthorne, Equity and Harm Reduction Manager for CA Bridge, and Mahathi Vemireddy, a Legal Fellow for Pregnancy Justice.
