Washington State Housing Program
Through a collaboration of government agencies, community organizations, and educational and research institutions, Washington state created The End AIDS Washington Initiative. Included in this initiative, the Washington State Department of Health, which funds HIV core medical and support services, included addressing housing, exclusive of the Seattle & King County region.
Washington D.C.’s Housing Support Services
Housing is one of the greatest unmet needs for people with HIV (PWH). Research has proven how vital housing support is to community health, especially for PWH. The relationship between HIV and housing is complicated, but to achieve the goals of EHE, a holistic approach to housing support services must be included in efforts.
This video highlights D.C. Health’s Division of HIV’s status-neutral approach to housing support programming, including housing for people vulnerable to HIV through PrEP uptake.
