Who should attend TRANSPIRE 2026?

NASTAD’s national technical assistance conference is intended for public health professionals working in state, local and territorial health departments. Conference content, speakers and resources will be catered specially to people working within HIV, hepatitis, and drug user health programs.

Is there a cost to attend TRANSPIRE 2026?

Yes. The conference registration fee is $875 before September 18, 2026, and $1,000 afterward. 

Is there a way to secure complimentary participation?

Yes. Those with an accepted conference abstract receive free registration, travel, and hotel accommodation. The abstract submission deadline is June 5, 2026. 

When can I get the detailed conference agenda?

The detailed agenda with information about all sessions and featured speakers will be released in June 2026. 

Will federal partners from CDC and HRSA be in attendance?

Yes. Federal partners will be invited to participate in the conference and network with health department attendees. Federal partners will not be speaking or presenting at the conference. 

Is there a limit on individual health department participation?

No. Health departments may send as many people to the conference as they wish.

Are conference participants allowed to hold affinity sessions?

Yes. Affinity sessions will be held on Friday, October 1, and may be organized by participants. Contact a NASTAD staff member for details. 

Are there networking and exhibiting opportunities at TRANSPIRE 2026?

Yes. Thirty-minute networking breaks are built into the conference agenda each morning and afternoon. The TRANSPIRE Exhibit Expo is the networking and collaboration hub for the conference and will be in the Grand Ballroom Foyer. 

What are the most important deadlines related to TRANSPIRE 2026?

The abstract submission deadline is June 5. The hotel reservation deadline is September 6. The conference registration deadline is September 18.
