Conference Abstracts

NASTAD is accepting abstracts for poster presentations, workshop sessions, and best practice resources for inclusion in the conference and its companion resource, HD Blueprint. The deadline to submit an abstract is June 5, 2026.

Health department staff and NASTAD staff are invited to submit abstracts in one or more of the conference’s four tracks; collaborations and co-submissions are encouraged:

  • Rural Health Strategies: Rural and frontier regions are disproportionately impacted by many health conditions and face unique challenges exacerbated by their locality. This track highlights initiatives, successes, challenges, and innovative approaches used to address syndemics in rural and frontier communities.
  • Evolving Public Health Landscape: Public health professionals continue to respond to emerging needs and threats impacting the health and well-being of their communities, with conditions continuously evolving. This track features sessions on programmatic strategies implemented as part of responses to clusters and outbreaks, anticipated changes to Medicaid, ADAP eligibility changes, funding threats, etc.
  • Meaningful Partnerships: Public Health work cannot exist in a vacuum and requires strategic partnerships and meaningful collaboration to be the most impactful. This track centers collaboration with community partners and other important stakeholders to advance public health goals.
  • Data & Storytelling: Evidence-based public health is rooted in our collective ability to gather and utilize the best possible data. This track highlights strategic communication approaches, research, data utilization and privacy, and innovative storytelling to leverage and promote better health outcomes.

All conference workshops will be scheduled for Tuesday, September 29 at the conference venue in Scottsdale, Arizona. Virtual participation is not available for conference workshops.

Abstract determinations will be announced by June 22, 2026, and those with accepted abstracts will be offered complimentary registration, travel, and hotel accommodations.
