2022 GW-NASTAD HIV Summit

How Clinicians Can Help End the HIV Epidemic: Prescriptions for State and City Action Plans

NASTAD's 9th Annual Clinical Public Health Summit on HIV was held from December 14-16, 2022, in Washington, DC.

The Summit, co-created in partnership with George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences offers medical students the chance to develop innovative project proposals that support the Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. (EHE) initiative’s goals and the updated National HIV/AIDS Strategy (2022 – 2025) (NHAS).

In 2022, NASTAD welcomed the MD Class of 2026 at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences to the Summit to learn directly from senior HIV/AIDS officials and experts fighting to end HIV at the federal, state, city, and community levels. This year we were thrilled to have the senior-most HIV/AIDS leaders from eight jurisdictions come to GW specifically to work with student teams at the HIV Summit. Those states are Arizona, California, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Washington DC. We were also joined by Harold Phillips, Director of The White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP),  who presented the HIV Summit keynote address. The agenda from the 2022 Summit is below.
