Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How do I request Technical Assistance (TA)?
    • To request TA, simply have a member of your team fill out this Click Up TA Request Form. The form should take no more than 10 minutes to complete, but feel free to reach out to SynTAC@NASTAD.org if you have any questions or run into any issues.
  • How long does it take NASTAD to respond?
    • NASTAD will confirm receipt of all TA requests as soon as they are received through our TA Request Form and will then set up an introductory call within at least 7 business days. We encourage you to reach out to SynTAC@NASTAD.org if you haven’t heard from one of our team members within this timeframe and we appreciate your patience and understanding with our process.
  • Can I make more than one request at the same time?
    • Yes, you can. However, our team recommends making one request per jurisdiction at a time given the realistic expectations around TA delivery timelines. While we hope to eventually address multiple requests at the same time, our current process includes one request per jurisdiction at a time. This means that additional requests from the same jurisdiction will have to wait until requests in progress are completed.
  • Who can make a TA request?
    • Any member of a CDC-funded health department providing or seeking to provide integrated services through a syndemic approaches model for their HIV, Hepatitis, or Drug User Health programs.
  • Do I need an implementation team to address the TA request?
    • Yes, this is required. While we do not expect all jurisdictions to have a dynamically operational syndemic approach to service delivery from the jump, we do expect there to be a level of buy-in from staff to begin implementation or expand implementation once TA begins. This requires implementation teams within the health department that are ready and willing to take the baton once TA has been delivered.
  • What topics of TA can I request?
    • Topics include support around health department organizational structure changes, policies and procedures, community engagement, surveillance and data systems, integrated testing and outreach efforts, health department hiring and staffing, braided funding, provider network mobilization, integrated program evaluation, and grantee capacity-building.
