Alexis Charpentier (Ah-lek-sis Shar-pahn-tyey) is a director on the Prevention team. Alexis leads NASTAD’s CDC-funded programmatic and technical assistance portfolio. Prior to NASTAD, she was the HIV Intervention Services Supervisor, Epidemiological Specialist IV, at the Hawaii Department of Health where she oversaw HIV prevention, intervention, and care activities to diminish the number of new HIV transmissions in Hawaii. Alexis was awarded a Bloomberg Fellowship in 2020, named one of the de Beaumont Foundation’s 40 under 40 public health leaders in the nation in 2021, and selected as an Association of State and Territorial Health Officials’ Diverse Executives Leading in Public Health scholar in 2022. Alexis received a B.A. from the University of Portland and is completing her M.P.H. at Johns Hopkins University.
