HIV Prevention & Health Equity

overview

NASTAD’s HIV Prevention and Health Equity programs support state health department HIV programs by facilitating active communication, consultation, technical assistance and problem solving across federal, state and local stakeholders in all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Pacific Islands. NASTAD leverages this vast network to identify state and national expertise in HIV prevention and bring it to bear through widespread dissemination of best practices, peer-based technical assistance efforts and consultations with federal partners. The key focus of these activities is to accelerate the adoption of strategies, policies and programs that will optimize outcomes of state and territorial health department programs around decreased HIV incidence, HIV testing and linkage to care, retention and re-engagement in care and viral suppression in an era of health reform.
